The down-and-dirty
What am I?  I'm Kirk's truck.  I don't have a name, but my plate reads quite simply: WHATLS1.

I'm a 1970 GMC C1500 pickup, or at least that's what I started life as, back in January of '70 in Fremont, CA.  I rolled out of that factory with a medium blue paint, four-wheel drum brakes, a Chevy 350 with a Quadrajet, a three-speed column-shifter manual gearbox, factory air conditioning, full chrome, and not much else.  These days, all I have close to 'left' is the blue paint (the second repaint), the rear drums, the chrome, and some of the A/C.  I've had a bit of work done, most notably a LS1 swap using the engine and four-speed automatic from a 2000 Camaro SS, front discs and lowering courtesy of Early Classic Enterprises, and a few other mods here and there.  Way too much to list here.  Suffice to say, I'm nearly a solid four seconds faster in the quarter mile than I was when I was born...not bad for a 36-year-old with 160,000 miles!
